8base Names Lesley DeCanio as Chief Revenue Officer

Transformative Enterprise Technology Sales and Marketing Expert to Drive New Business for Fast-Growing Low-Code Development Platform

8base today announced that Lesley DeCanio has joined its executive leadership team as Chief Revenue Officer. In this role, DeCanio will direct the company’s sales efforts to support its growth targets. She will focus on evangelizing the “8base Way” of helping creators bring their digital visions to life using a combination of 8base’s game-changing platform and a highly talented team of designers and developers. She will be responsible for scaling a diverse, multi-disciplinary team to drive the company’s revenue- generation plan.

DeCanio brings extensive experience and accomplishment in Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) sales and new venture marketing, digital strategy, data intelligence, branded creative content, organizational transformation and future-focused team building to her new role. Her expertise spans multiple disciplines in rapidly growing startups and large global business environments. She is widely recognized for her vision in developing enhanced go-to-market strategies and complex structured plans that surpass organizational goals for sales, profits, volume, product mix, and others.

DeCanio most recently served as Vice President, Advertising & Digital Marketing for McClatchy, where she collaborated with its digital agency excelerate and drove digital media advertising sales at the company’s flagship markets in Miami and Sacramento. In this role, she led a team of strategic media sales professionals across 30 U.S. markets with capabilities ranging from market data analytics to digital media technology that drove high-performing digital content in an array of verticals.

Prior to this position, DeCanio served as Senior VP, Agency Engagement for TMP Worldwide (now Radancy), a global leader in SaaS technologies in the human capital management space. In this role, she led the Business Development and Organic Growth teams, South-Central Division. Leveraging her expertise in client-focused strategies, she guided partnerships with executives at Fortune 500 companies, including The Walt Disney Co., ESPN, Dell Technologies and Tenet Health, to achieve their program objectives and deliver consumer-caliber candidate-centric experiences. She evangelized the company’s suite of SaaS solutions, placing them at the center of the talent acquisition strategy, which resulted in a 93% client adoption rate. Her success led her to a key role in the TMP Labs Software Advisory Board.

Prior to joining TMP Worldwide, DeCanio served as National Director of Sales, Yahoo!/Hot Jobs for Yahoo! Inc. There she led an inside sales team of more than 80 reps in the Chicago, Austin and Florida markets, which was recognized as the fastest-growing region (Miami) in its first year of production. During her tenure, HotJobs, a recruitment tech startup, issued an IPO and was subsequently acquired by Yahoo! Inc.

Prior to her role at Yahoo!/HotJobs, she held several positions at System One/Amadeus GDS, from Account Executive to Vice President of Sales, during her 10-year career at the company. Her tenure culminated in the oversight of the largest travel industry migration, which successfully cemented Amadeus as the world’s largest Global Distribution System (GDS).
