The 8base storage and compute environment

8base is powered by Amazon Web Services, the market leader in cloud computing services.

Managed Relational Database

Data Builder allows front-end developers to easily design their own data models8base provides a fully functional database and liberates developers from provisioning hardware or virtual instances, setting up database software, patching or backups. The database can be configured as a distributed, fault-tolerant, self-healing storage system and can auto-scale up to 64 terabytes.

It delivers high performance and availability with up to 15 low-latency read replicas, point-in-time recovery, continuous backup and replication across three regions. without data architects or DBAs.

Database Security

8base provides multiple levels of security for your database including encryption at rest and encryption of data in transit using SSL.

On an encrypted 8base data instance, data in the underlying storage is encrypted, as are the automated backups, snapshots, and replicas in the same cluster.

Serverless Compute

8base executes code without needing staff to provision or manage servers. 8base automatically scales to meet processing and uptime requirements.

Code is executed as part of front-end requests or can be configured to run server-side using the 8base CLI (Command-Line Interface). Code runs in parallel and processes each trigger individually, scaling precisely with the size of the workload.

8base’s extensibility framework allows developers to easily incorporate APIs from external systems such as and others.

Real-Time Architecture

8base exposes its event-driven pub/sub architecture to allow front-end code or backend logic to be executed in response to an event. 8base allows for high-throughput, push-based, many-to-many messaging.
